I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Bioinformatics. I undertook postdoctoral research in computational biology at Oxford University where I used 3D protein shape datasets to predict protein structures and interactions. I then spent two years at a biotechnology company as a Bioinfomatician looking for best candidate targets for cancer therapy.
I currently lead an analytics team that builds models to predict the likelihood of customer non-payment. The work is helping to inform changes to the client’s non-payment risk metrics and drive improvements to debt recovery processes. I also organise Journal Clubs and data science meetings within the team and mentor junior Data Scientists and interns, helping them achieve their learning objectives.
